Because they thought he was Calvin Klein in 1955. In 1985, they know he is Marty. A lot of people look like people you have seen before in your life.

and it wasnt in either of their minds that Marty from 1955 was THEIR Marty...
REMEMBER:
While Marty's Time Travel was instantaeous for you and me...
it took 30 years for George McFly to see him again...
Do you remember anyone from 30 years ago?
And would you even THINK that that person was one and the SAME?

They probably would have had he mentioned he was there, but think for a second about someone you might have met for two or three days 30 years ago, would you remember exactly what he looked like? then 30 years later, he hasn't changed a bit.
but then again, its only a show, it had enough things going on without adding one more!

actually something has always caught my attention by the first movie.
Look at when he comes back and is standing outside by his new truck. He looks back and sees his parents smiling at him through the screen door.
I always got the feeling they somehow knew it was him.
