No she was speeding on the freeway, and her failure to slow down caused a four car pile up which killed a woman.

That's kinda true but a distortion. She was driving on the highway and she rear-ended someone. The person she rear-ended lost control and went into oncoming traffic where he was hit by a woman. The woman that hit him died at the hospital from blunt force trauma. Brandy AKA Moesha was not immediately charged with anything but now CHP ( California Highway Patrol ) may be charging her with misdemeanor manslaughter which if convicted carries a $1000 fine (yea like that will teach her) and up to 1 year in county jail. The police said she had no drugs or alcohol in her system. No doubt the family of the dead woman is seeing dollar signs in light of the recent events. That's about all I know. Hope it helped.

Traffic Accident Involving Brandy Kills One
(January 25, 2007)
No criminal charges have yet been filed after singer Brandy was involved in a traffic accident that killed one driver.
The former "Moesha" star was traveling along a Los Angeles highway when her Land Rover struck the back of a Toyota.
The driver of the car, Awatef Aboudihaj, died the following night in hospital.
CHP spokesman Leland Tang told PEOPLE magazine, "We can't conclude if there's any criminal negligence involved. It's just too early to tell."
Meanwhile, Brandy, who was uninjured, "was very very cooperative and helpful," at the scene, according to Tang.
The singer's spokesperson told the magazine, "Brandy's holding up the best that she can. It has taken a toll on her."
The spokesperson added in a statement, "She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased. Brandy asks that you respect the privacy of every one involved at this time."
No arrests have yet been made but the accident is still under investigation.

Brandy was driving on the expressway and hit the car in front of her, which caused a chain reaction of crashes resulting in a woman being killed. She was not drunk or under the influence of drugs according to the police. Despite the woman's husband saying that it was an accident that could happen to anyone and that he doesn't blame Brandy, he is suing her for 50 million dollars nonetheless. It's sad because she wasn't one of those people out there who drink and then stupidly get behind the wheel, it was an honest accident and she'll have to live with the guilt of having taken a life for the rest of her own life. That's got to be rough.

The 27-year-old former star of the TV comedy "Moesha" was not injured, but the driver of the car she rear-ended with her Land Rover in the December 30 crash died, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim was identified as Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, a married mother of one, said CHP spokesman Leland Tang.
No charges or arrests have been made in connection with the accident, and no formal determination has been made as to what caused the crash, which was first reported by the celebrity news Web site TMZ.com.
But barring mechanical problems or other extenuating factors in such accidents, the driver of the car that rear-ends another is typically found to be at fault, Tang said.
He said the chain-reaction wreck started when Brandy's vehicle ran into the back of the car driven by Aboudihaj, whose car struck a third vehicle, then swerved into the freeway's center divider and was broad-sided by a fourth automobile.
A statement issued by Brandy's publicist said: "She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased" and asks the media to "respect the privacy of everyone involved at this time."
The singer-actress, whose full name is Brandy Norwood, was alone in her vehicle and no alcohol or drugs were involved, Tang said.
Brandy told officers she was driving at about 65 miles per hour before the crash occurred.
"We've impounded all four vehicles, and the outcome of the mechanical inspection is coming to us today or tomorrow," Tang said. "Barring any mechanical difficulties on Brandy's part, like a brake failure or a steering failure, then there's the very high probability that she is the party most at fault or the contributing party."
Brandy, a native of Missouri, burst on the recording scene with her self-tilted debut album in 1994, launching such hits as "I Wanna Be Down," "Baby" and "Brokenhearted." Her fourth album, "Afrodisiac," was released in 2004 with a lead single, "Talk About Our Love," produced by Kanye West.
Last year, she served on the panel of judges for NBC's summer show "America's Got Talent."

No, she didn't run her over. The story is that Brandy was driving on the freeway in LA slammed on her brakes. The lady behind her stopped but was hit and her car slammed into the wall of the freeway and she died. Brandy didn't hit the lady but she caused the wreck.

she was on the highway and the car in front of her slowed stopped and she didn't see it in time and hit the woman in front of her and the car slid sideways and another car hit her in the side that was what actually killed her not the first hit. i think it is sad but i dont think that if it was a poor person that had been involved in the same accident they wouldn't be sueing for 50 million. i feel bad for the family and all but give me a break

No, she rear ended someone and it caused a chain reaction. One woman was killed during that accident and she was the driver of the car she rear ended. It happened in December and now the City Attorney is seeking charges against her for misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

She was involved in a car accident that killed someone. She rear-ended them, knocked them into oncoming traffic where they were hit again and killed. It's under investigation now to determine whether she's going to be indicted. It could carry up to 1 year in prison, but if it goes that far, I don't personally think it will end in prison.
