I am interested in the accounting program at my college. I am enrolled and still taking all the core classes first (math, english, science, ect..) I struggle with math, but I am learning it slowly. I was wondering what a career in accounting is like? What is the CPA exam like? Is it worth it?

i work in finance and find it very fulfilling though i am not a cpa. Many of my colleagues are and all have said the cpa exam is very tough and required lots of study. Being a cpa can help you in many business not just accounting. The ceo of the last co. i was with was a cpa before mgmt. good luck.

I have a degree in Business and am only one class off of an Accountant's Degree. I chose Business Administration. I have worked as an accountant before and it is boring. If you do it for the money the money may come later. You may get lucky and get a decent paying position with proper planning right off. If you don't mind a sucky job because you are getting paid good then go for it. It does not always pay good but it can. If you go for the CPA exam expect to work hard for your good money in a very boring hum drum field where the suicide rate is high.
