Ummm no. Course I was 18 at the time. ha ha
I bought a pair to go with a pair of pants that kept showing my panty lines. Honestly the experience was so miserable I threw them away. Now I have some undies from Victoria Secret that don't show under linen pants.
Honestly pick your battles with your parents and bug them about something worthwhile like a spring break trip or new ear piercing.

I can't even remember when I started wearing thongs. I was probally about 12 or 13. I didn't ask my mom, I just bought them. I think they are so much more comfortable then regular underwear. You should wear what you want to wear, not what your parents make you wear, its your body :)

If you're old enough to buy your own clothes, and do your own laundry, you don't really need to ask your mother.
Thongs aren't very comfortable and they're not very hygienic either. The string acts like a wick to draw bacteria from the anus down toward the vagina, making you more likely to get a urinary tract infection or bacterial vaginosis (an odor-causing infection).
If you're worried about pantylines, why not try some cute boy-cut panties? No panty line and they won't climb your crack ;-)

I wanna say about 16. When I started buying my own undies and clothes. My mom was always like, its so uncomfy, but to this day I still wear them. Having a matching thong and bra always makes you feel better about yourself.

Actually I went with my mother when I was 14.And ever since I buy thongs.I love them , but now I'm pretty tired of them so I wear now regular bicini or boyshorts.

thongs are gross. A study showed that bacteria from your butt easily travels upward and can cause infection, especially when you sweat or exercise.
