there are a few i like. spiderman 2 was really good, and i was surprised it was such a good turn out.
pirates of the carribean dead mans chest wasnt as good as the first, and i thnk thats cuz the writers were trying to hard to be funny, whereas in the first one, it was just a natural funny.
now i have to say the best sequel to any movie is toy story 2. idk why, but its just that its just as funny, and i love the humor in it(call me a baby, whatever.)

Best sequel - Saw 3... The story, the acting, the death scenes were all better. The first two movies, while good, had too many gaps, too many times where the movie dragged along. The third was suspensful/frightening from start to finish.
Worst sequel - Basic Instinct 2... Granted the first movie wasn't great, it was different for it's time.. There aren't enough cuss words to describe how bad the second movie was. No story, terrible acting. The movie strictly tried to sell Sharon Stone's sex appeal, which isn't there anymore.
Close 2nd for worst sequel - Caddyshack 2... OMG!! The first movie was a classic. Bill Murray trying to kill a gopher on golf course... What more do you need in a comedy? I'm still trying to get back the 90 minutes of my life I lost watching the sequel.
The movie that needs a sequel..... The Fifth Element. even though this movie was made in 1997, it was 10 years before it's time. This movie, with the technological advances that have been made over the last decade, screams for a sequel.... Only if Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Ian Holm and Chris Tucker all agreed to do it.

The catagory is Worst Sequel Ever, here are the nominees (and yes they all played in theaters) :
Cannonball Run 2 (a car with an orang driving? give me a break!)
Smokey And The Bandit 3 (so bad they couldn't get Burt Reynolds to do it)
Rocky 5
Superman 4 The Quest For Peace
Police Academy 3-6 Same jokes as the first two only lamer
Maniquin 2
And the winner is: Manniqin 2. Just goes to show that a cute idea only works once unless you have something new to add into the mix.

lets see, id have to say some of the best sequels would have to be toy story 2, kill bill 2, and underworld 2.
toy story because it had the same great characters as the first, yet an original story line as the first.
kill bill because it was simply a continuation of the first. and even though its basically part two, im considering it a sequel.
underworld because it was as dark and exciting as the first, but more exciting, and expanded more on the world created in the first.
and as the worst, just look for the sequel that came out on video, except for son of a mask. didnt see it, and dont really want to.

I loved back to the future 2, that has to be one of my favorite sequels. and pirates of the carribbean 2 was really good too. I wish they would have made a deep rising 2, ghost ship 2 and reign of fire 2. I love movies!!!

Starship troopers was good but the second was totally wacked not the same movie.
And as for sequels theres many but I would like another Jeepers Creepers oh yeah enough with them damn texas Chainsaw movies sucks

I think some of the better sequels actually came from "The Matrix" with Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions and the video game Enter The Matrix. They had to continue Reloaded over to Revolutions and that made it more interesting to have to watch the next one.

i'd have to say the worst movie sequel ever that i've seen was pirates of the caribbean 2. it was wet, confusing, LONG AND BORING and we didn't see nearly enough johnny depp or orlando bloom. i wished they made a sequel to the itallian job--that movie seriously rocked!!! loved the scheming!!!

Worst. The Sting II. You leave out Newman and redford for jackie Gleason and Mac Davis, now shifitng the age gap dramatically and the script was written by someone on an caffeine binge
"The Candidate". I wanted to know "What now?"

POTC 2 is the worst - sequel - ever!!! It was just a big bag of mixed up, nonsensical crap masquerading as a plot!
