I like this guy at my skool, but i dont know him, and want to figure out his name and maybe get to know him, but Id become shy if i just went up to him randomly.Also i dont want to seem pushy etc.
Any advice?

try this: ok. like i always say start of slow and calmly.
make it a "hey" expression when you see him. then after a while start with saying heyy and wave. then if he talks to you back thne just talk
i know your very shy, like you said, but building this"hey" on and on will soon turn into conversation and will ultimaly lead to your friendship :]

There is nothing wrong in asking him his name.you could come up with some excuse like you thought he were the one who got i dont know a scholarship to go abroad,or ask him to join a club that you are in with some pretext that you are looking for new members.

this happens to me alot and my advice is that u go and meet him right away become friends with him ASAP but not to close and be flirty so he knows ur interested make it sort of abvious in fromt of him and his friends if he ignores you then move on but act fast before he gets a girl friend!!!!good luck

Ask some one that knows him about his name. Just play it cool, go up to him and just ask him about something general...and introduce yourself...That's all you gotta do.

You mean you have a crush on him? You must of you don't even know him. talk to someone that knows him, and start hanging out with that person to get to know him.
