I expect you realise the decimal answers given so far are an approximation. No matter how accurately (i.e. to how many decimal places) it's given, a decimal number won't give exactly 3 when you square it. So just write it as sqrt(3), or √3, when an exact answer is required.

PS It is not possible to write down "the whole damn thing" -- no matter how many decimal places you write, there are still more.
