Well, I am caucasian, but my ancestors came to America on the Mayflower. I am a direct descendant of William Bradford, the one who wrote about the Pilgrims and the 2nd governor of Plymouth. Because I used to be a history major in college, that to me, is interesting. Mostly though, I am only a tiny bit Indian (as in Native American - Cherokee). That is something I am the most proud of because they were the first Americans and they are a disrespected and misunderstood people. Their way of life has always been one of respect. If I had to say I would be proud of what culture I am, I would say that I am very proud to be an American.

Barefoot, that was great.

Anyways, I'm white and not proud of it, just like I'm not proud to be an American. Now before anybody shoots off their mouths I have a ligit reason. I am not proud of anything I am by accident of birth. Why should I be. It was by accident of a sperm hitting and egg that I'm here. I guess I like being white. I find it advantagous in some ways, but proud. Nah, I did nothing to earn it. It is what it is. Just a string of DNA that gives me certain charatristics. Makes me more prone to skin cancer. Don't like that. Amino Acids, people get over yourselfs.

I'm Caucasian (late immigrants like Irish, German, slav) and Native American (Cherokee) and who knows what else. I respect my ancestors and my heritage, Its interesting (and can be very meaningful) to know where you came from.

However I cant say that I'm "proud" because you should take pride in the things you earn and work for in life. You should take pride in the mark you leave behind in life. I didn't earn my heritage, I was born into it.

I live in the great lakes area.

I'm Black and Proud. I ought to be, because this is who I am born to be. I may not be proud of many of black people who want respect and racism to end so bad, but don't show it in their actions(that goes for any race), but I am proud of anyone who can make a difference, doesn't matter the race. I am proud of myself for having goals and reaching the ones I can.

I am white...I am proud in the sense that I do not hate being white and that was the way I was born. I know I would be proud no matter what race I was! Are you proud?...I hope so! :o)

Race: Daytona 500
Proud if that race and also proud that I have five toes, two ears and one nose.
I am also proud of friends of different races like "Indy" and "Le Mans". Proud too that they have hands, feet and a nose.
You am what you is.

Being proud of your race seems silly to me.

Be proud of your achievements, be proud of your abilities, be proud of your behavior.

But why be proud of a handful of superficial characteristics that we arbitrarily lump together aas race?
