Because they can, because we are a mostly free nation and they can earn what they can. It would be wrong to try to limit and even more wrong to try to tell her what to do with it. That is not the purpose of government in a democracy, communist maybe but even then not that far. Helping other people with their problems is an act of compassion and while I do not agree with Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise I will not and cannot say they are evil or wrong. They have the right guaranteed by the Law to do what they are doing. It is that same Law that allows you to feel and say what you do. The Law is just not fair.
As far as not buying or watching movies and television. That would be a very good idea. I would love to see people spend that time reading and talking instead of having their mind turn to mush by what is on the tube.

Whats wrong with individual freedom? If you were to get famous or smart and invent something that made millions wouldn't you want to have the choice of how you were going to spend it. And if it were not for free enterprise, supply and demand, etc. those people would not have anything if the government were controlling it. I bet you vote Democrat. If Hillary Clinton gets her way you will have to go to a doctor of governments choice, and will not even be free to spend your money or anybody elses on the doctor of your choice, or you will risk going to jail. Life is not fair, people who are poor, are usually poor because of the poor choices they have made. Why should they deserve the benefit of getting anything from the high achievers or the people who work hard to earn what they have? In all fairness everybody gets what they deserve. No where in the constitution of the United States or in the morality of the bible does it state that life is supposed to be fair. If you do not like people who earn a lot of money, maybe you need to move to a country that has more government control over peoples lives, like a comunist country under a dictatorship.

It will never change, as people will continue to go to the movies. Actually, the actors and sports figures are paid fairly. They are the reason people see movies. They are in demand. It is simple economics really. And, when it comes to sports and movies, you will never get the demand to go away.

If you think you can, I give you this challenge. Go to Green Bay on a Sunday during football season, or any home game for the Red Sox, and attempt to the people to boycott that game. If you live to walk away from either place, post how things went in here.

Stop complaining about it, as there isn't really anything you can do about it.

Don;t be ridiculous. It is what it is. There is a market for acting and modeling and the salaries are based on market value. true, if no one bought movies and CDs the market would drop. But it's not going to happen anytime soon.

By the way, what was teh last movie you went to see or rented at home? Whatever you paid for that movie, a portion went to those high salaries. So, while making a noble statement, you are part of the problem as you see it.

why do we allow corporations ( who often sponsor these acts) to go global, throw our economy out of order, and otherwise make billions of dollars hiding behind the acts the give us to soak our time with.

listen, I know it seems easy to point the finger and the seemingly ordinary acts and get pissed, but there is a bigger picture hiding.

we need to attach corporations that do us no good and steal our well being ( as well as our money).

ps. bill gates and the owners of Walmart have a better chance of starting their own country than do Angie and Tom cruise. Trust.

I have no clue why we just want to watch thosse movies. want to hear that song and they are luring us to the sweet sweet taste of entertainment. I bet u that all of us in the world would be rich if we didn't buy all that junk and have to pay for celeb expenses. I am 100 % sure we are paying for PARIS HILTON'S (EWWW) slutty costumes. the world is being over ruled by celebs and higher enforcements. This must stop NOOOW!!!!!!!!!! Honestly there really is nothing to do but sit around and mope, we will always attempt not to buy tickets to Epic Movie but we just have to see it. We are tottally spoiled rotten

While I agree everyone should boycott "Hollyweird" and the rest of the entertainment establishment, I do not believe it is the responsibility of anyone who makes money to give it away to those who do not. If these people want money so bad, they can learn a skill just as easily as anyone else who has done it.

They had their own charities.

We pay the businessmen not to them. They are paid by their producers not knowing if it will click or fail in the media, who in turn sold the medium into the businessmen and finally into us. They are paid for their acting services for a certain rules that an author have made.

As for the money they earned is up to them how they will spend it and not of our concern as far as I am concern.

As have mentioned, they had their own charities and been spending a lot of money for it.

I agree, but it's supply and demand. However with the advent and popularity of reality TV supply is starting to increase.
