my best friend just had sex with her bf for the first time, and shes been stressing about being pregnant and stuff and ive supported her and went to the store w/ her to get a pregnancy test, even though i dont agree with her choice to have sex. i was talkin to another friend online, whom my best friend doesnt like, and this other friend said that one of her bf's guy friends told his friends that they are having sex. i showed the convo to my best friend bc i wanted her to know. did i make a mistake, should i not have told her? do you think she thinks im trying to break her and her boyfriend up? HELP!

You were right to help her get a pregnancy test, and to express your disagreement with her having sex. Obviously she's not ready even from the point of view of using contraception. You were right to to show her what her bf is saying. In fact, it shows you care. What she does with this information is her choice. I don't know how she is reacting. Maybe she will see that her bf is the one betraying her trust, not you.
If you reasonably can, try to help her deal with this; it seems that you have better judgment than she does. But she may not accept this. It might be better for you to let her go. It's sad, but it happens.

no! you are NOT a bad friend. believe me. you definately did the right thing. because if you hadn't shown her the convo and later she found out that you knew the whole time she would've been really mad at both you and her bf. trust me all of this is his fault and if she blames u for trying to break up her relationship then just don't let it get to ur head. so don't worry cuz kinda the same scenario happened with my friends and it all came out find in the end. so good job! :) bye!

You didn't do the wrong thing. You did a very good thing. That's what being a best friend is for. Having sex was likely a very big decision for your friend, and for her boyfriend to be running his mouth about it shows complete disregard for her feelings. I'm sure she doesn't want anyone else knowing about it.

no you are not a bad friend.you were sticking up for your friend and it is possible that she might take it like you want to ruin her relationship.but in time she will realise that if the guy was only using her and that you only wanted to protect her, because i also agree with you we should not be having sex eventhough we have a boyfriend they must wait until we are ready and if they dont want to wait means that the only thing they wanted was sex. so athey are better off

Well mostly people will tell you to stay out of other people's relationships. But it's harder when they're your friends. I woulda done the same things and showed the messages.....If she's a real friend she'll understand that you are jsut trying to look out for her :) U R ONE IN A MILLION

u did the right thing. this guy is obviously not a good bf if he is telllin people about thier sexual relationship. it only takes one bad, out of control rumor to ruin ur reputation.

I don't see how she would think you are trying to break them up, when the other girl was the one to say it. If she is blaming you, it's not your fault it is hers.

I think you did the right thing. If you didn't tell her things could have been a lot worse.
