Doc did not want to be rescued from this past....
He hid the Time Machine in the Cave so that Marty could GO FORWARD in time....back to 1985....for Marty was trapped in 1955 ... if you recall.....
Doc left the Time Machine in the Cave for Marty and wanted nothing MORE TO DO WITH IT....
Doc's welfare was not something even considered by Doc...BUT...
When Marty went back to SAVE Doc from Buford Tannen..
The Time Machine was re-introcduced.....
THERE WERE NOT TWO OF THEM....only one...
Once Doc went back to 1855....the Time Machine was forgotten by him....for Doc wanted nothing more to do with it....
ONLY WHEN Marty came back to SAVE Doc was the time Machine back in the equation....
AND .... as illustrated in the SECOND MOVIE....
Once Marty went back in Time....a NEW TIMELINE was bourne...
HE tore the fuel line....
Doc didnt WANT Marty to come back
in the other TIMELINE...Marty DOES NOT come back...and Doc DIES....
