it's a pshycological thing. Our brains are always trying to make impossibilities turn into possibilities and it's not a bad thing. That is actually a sign that you're sane and intelligent. So keep dreaming, imagining, reading fiction and watching anime.

One reason is because it leads us to imagen what a certain sitution would be like. ie being a ninja w/ nothing going for you but still try for ur dream (Rock Lee/ Naruto). Sometimes the storyline is just so well ploted u just cant turn away (Fullmetal Achemist and Cowboy Bebop). though the anime i've watched, i've notice that there's at lease one true fact in every series
( usually culture wise, other real things too)

I think almost everyone is like that, if only a little bit, even with the evolution of reality TV. Entertainment is a form of escapism for us, where we can not think about our day-to-day lives, but enjoy something interesting or amusing.
Personally, I love anime and fantasy things because I also want to see things that would never happen (like Harry Potter) but I wish could happen (like going to Hogwarts...LOL).

I think people watch and read fictional things to get away from reality. You know go somewhere were they don't have to worry about the reality of their life. To be free.

I do that to. I think that people read and watch because they want a place to go when they are feeling down. A place were you are accepted. It relaxes your mind and makes you feel better. A possibility that there is actualy a place to go were you can be happy. And some think that there is hope that it might happen to you.^_^

as far as that fictional thing is concerned I don't know, but regarding the anime I like the animation part in it, their speed, the creativity they offer, them being too much different than original animation. there is hardly any real world touch in anime.

Yes, me too. It would be good to have extraordinary things happen in life that would break up life's monotony. I'd probably appreciate robots coming out of someone's head from another galaxy (Fooly Cooly) or a notebook that can kill people (Death Note) or a shinigami that stalks the city I live in (Boogiepop Phantom) once in a while. You know, just to add a dash of flavor to life.

I read them and watch them because I like the story, and it keeps me from destroying the world when I get too stressed... or drink too much coffee...
