My 20 year old brother was arrested for harrassment. This incident happened about 2 years ago. He was arrested 2 days ago and all they told him it was, "harrassment". They didn't specify what kind. . . . . Here's the thing

He was found laying on a couch with a 5 year old girl in an appropriate manner. He claims he didn't do anything. I don't know, i wasn't there. . . . . If thats the case, what will happen?

He did appear in court on an arraignment the morning after he was arrested. He was released on a signature bond tho. I don't understand that tho. If it was sexual harrassment on a minor, then wouldn't he still be in jail on a bond? . . My guess is that this is only a misdeameanor. I have been arrested 3 times. . . arson(misdeameanor) and 2 felonies. Hot Checks & residential burglary. . I got probation on every count. .

Like i said, i honestly know he wouldn't do anything like that. As a father of a 3 year old girl, I will not be able to let her be around him if he's convicted of anything or if he has to register as a sex offender. . . . . The little girl that he supposedly touched, is the daughter of my brother's ex-friends girlfriend. . . . I don't know. He said that he's gonna wait til after the trial then he said he was gonna countersue. I say why wait. . . . . My mom got mad at me a few minutes ago when i told her that i wouldn't allow him to see her if he's convicted. I told her i would have him arrested again.

I don't get the two years? If the incident happened two years ago, were there police involved? Did they do an investigation? Physical inspection of the child? If there is evidence against him, he is probably looking at sexual conduct with a minor 14 years of age or younger. I am sorry I just don't know how they could arrest him now, or why? Considering the fact, two years have passed. Because if the report is new, and no physical evidence exists they have no case. You should get a lawyer, in any case, and whatever you do, don't go probono.

You brother must have appeared in Court to face the charges. At that time, the Judge explained the charges against him, in detail. Its called arraignment. This usually has to happen within 48 hours of his arrest - in most states - so something seems unusual here.
Assuming that there was sufficient evidence to support the charge, your brother can expect a trial in the future.

Unfortunately in America its not innocent until proven guilty. It's quilty until proven innocnet. Don't let anyone tell you any different. A very good friend of mine was arrested for "deviant sexual behaviour" with his wives 13 year old neice. The girl came from a problem family and told the school counselor he had "raped" her 2 times. He was arrested, had to post $50,000 bond on EACH count #100,000 total and his down payment for his attorney was $30,000. He had to sell his house just to get the money. He almost lost his job at our company until the legal dept. stepped in and said he was "innocnet until prven guilty."
I know he was innocnet since I was his supervisor and I had to provide him with proof of the fact that he was at work at the time of the alledged atacks. We fingerprint into work (time clock) and he was clocked in during both attacks. Plus his attorney had an expert go into his computer to document the fact that he was at work and didn't just clock in and leave. This is still going on (5 years) and he has had to leave the job due to frequent court appearances just to show he had not fled the area. (monthly roll calls) Fortunately another of his wifes family members was able to provide him with a job, his wife's moher took them into live in her house and the rest of the family is behind him since the girl has been in pscyhological counseling since she was 10. So, he lost his job, his house, his savings, and standing in his church and most of the community because he is guilty until proven innocnet . I wish your brother much luck and hope the family gathers around him to show thier love and support,

The very fact that you say you don't know what happened, says there is some reason for concern. If my brother was in that situation I would know beyond a shaddow of a doubt that he didn't do anything.

Did he know the child? Did the child say he was inappropriet with her? These are things that will be against him in court.
