The announcer is just a file that says things during your song and in the menus. Like in the song select menu, he will say "Select Music" and things. He will also say things during your song depending on how well you're doing. Like when you make a 100 combo, he'll say so and stuff like that.

What do you mean by announcer. I play it at school because it is pretty simple and consumes time like crazy. I went to the site and downloaded it all and a lot of the songs. If you don't know what Stepmania is, it is a Computer-Version of DDR and its pretty tough but I've seen guys do insane songs 10 times harder than normal dance pad DDR

The person who announces stuff? Stepmania sounds like some exercise program so it's probably the person who does the talking and explaining.
