My husband and I are having the same problem. I was on the depo shot for 1 1/2 and have been off it now for over a year and still have not gotten pregnant. We have 3 children and wanted to have a 4th. However, I don't have regular periods. My Dr. recently told me that the shot has been shown to increase insulin resistance and PCOS in women so I am now on medication to help me ovulate. I would ask your Dr. to run blood work and see if they can find some answers.

I was on the depo for two years. I'm glad that I'm off of it. It does mess up your body. Give your body time to adject. I got off of it in Feb of last year and I got prago in September of last year. That is 6 months. I didn't want to have any kids yet. Sorry I got off tack.

When I got of it, I didn't have regular periods. It also said that it may take up to a year to get pergnant. It verys in women. I agree with the others. I would still get it checked out. God made us bleed for a reason, The shot is messing that up. It also said that the shot messes up the desncetiny of the bones. That's why I got off.
I hope this helped. Silver

I would not go back to using artificial contraception. It causes horrible side effects to your body and is against the natural will of God. I'm not too sure about the depo shot but it doesnt sound good. Look into Natural Family Planning. It's based on knowing your cycle and when you are fertile so you and your husband have a better chance to concieve. God Bless!

I was on depo for two & half years. It tooks 9 months to get pregnant. My dr. said that if we hadn't conceived in a year, she'd want to start some fertility testing. I'd check it out.

Infertility is a common side effect of Depo Provera. I would have your OB refer you to an reproductive endocrinologist if after a year of trying you still haven't conceived.

Have you spoken to your doctor about this? He/she might be better at answering a question like that.

Sorry, I'm not much more help, but I had a very long and hard battle for my own kids. My first son took 5yrs to achieve. All types of fertility drugs and treatments.

Sometimes it takes awhile to concieve after Depo. It took me two years after gettng off of it, and I had been on it for almost three. According to my doc who gave me the shots, the longer you are on it, the longer it takes for you concieve once you stop taking it.

Don't worry, its less than a 14% chance every month for a woman to conceive, so don't fret, relax take a deep breathe, most the time your just trying to hard, its easier if you are relaxed and don't try, maybe you'll get lucky then!
