dear J,

im a doctor, and based on the very short history you gave us, and without examining you, it is virtually impossible to give you a diagnosis... my best advice is to see a doctor...

Could be you have a blood clot - if it breaks and moves you could get a stroke, or a heart attack, and death is a real possibility.

Go see a doctor.

Could be you broke a bone, and it didn't set, and the bump is calcium forming over the break. It could leave you permanently cripppled.

Go see a doctor.

Could be that the injury caused a tumor to form (Yes, one of the things that can on occasion cause cancer is a physical injury.) The cancer can grow without you feeling it, and by the time it is discovered it will be too late, and you can die.

Go see a doctor.

Getting a theme here? Without seeing the injury and doing an examination, no one can tell you what is wrong, much less what should be done. Go and see someone who can, before you

die.

The best thing is alternate ice and heat. Wrap in an ace bandage at night but not too tight because it will cut off circulation.
