Use either DexCool or Prestone orange coolant. The coolant from the factory is good for at least 100,000 miles (I believe they recommend changing at 150,000 miles). You need to be very careful filling up your system. Make sure there is no air in the system (bleed the air out and make sure the system does not leak). This is very important, since DexCool will oxidize parts if exposed to air. If you have air in your system, the coolant will eat the parts and cause you to have a failure.
After adding coolant to any late model GM car, do a pressure check to make sure the system is air tight. If you do have an air leak, you will do major damage to your car.
Good luck!
