She was so kind, cheerful, and beautiful. She must have been with her mother, near Cedars Sinai Hospital approximately January 5th, 2007. I didn't want to bother her. Later, I realized, I might have hurt her feelings by not mentioning I recognized her, not asking for an autograph, or a picture. That was certainly not my intention. I just thought she might like to be like everyone else.

I would like to apologize, I did indeed recognize her. I would have loved to get a photo on my phone with her. She wore my favorite color to Oscar Vanity Fair Party, purple!

Cheers to you mom!
Brittany Murphy is not part of that Hollywood, pantyless, next-stop-rehab crowd we hear so much about and is probably overwhelmed everywhere she goes with autograph seekers and what not.
She was probably expecting you to just be another "obnoxious autograph-seeking fan" but you did the right thing, you gave her a break, a breather.
Sorry you didn't get an autograph, but you did a good deed instead...
I bet if she could, she would tell you "thanks".

Here she is in purple:

We purely couldn't end 2009 with out yet another celeb lack of life... Michael Jackson Farrah Fawcett Bea Arthur Patrick Swayze Billy Mays Natasha Richardson Ed McMahon (better?) and Brittany Murphy R.I.P.

Don't worry, celebrites need a break from all those eager fans! She was probably really thankful that she got treated like a regular person because stars need personal space too. That was actually really kind on your part to let her be and not say a word, I know you probably really wanted to but you did the right thing!

Celebrities generally appreciate the fact that most people leave them alone. It's very, very unlikely that she was hurt - she either thought that you respected her privacy or she thought: Great, she doesn't notice me. Or even more likely: Didn't notice or pay attention to the other people in the elevator.

You were more kind to leave her alone. If she was in a hospital, she may have been visiting a sick relative or friend and may not have felt up to being a celebrity just then.

She may have thought nothin' of it. Being treated like a normal human being might be the best gift you could have given her!

I've never met her but she seems really nice. She probably would've gave you an autograph if you had asked.
