What is the right way for DR. an the medical field to dispoise of needles used or unused?

Needles are always placed in a special "sharps" container. They never go in the trash. I'm not sure if you wanted to know what happens after that or not, but there is the simple answer. This includes any sharps, even the little lancets used for finger sticks.

after put in the sharps box, a special company picks them up, but i do not know how they dispose of them.
