rabbits dont usually make any noise. they can make a very high pitched squealing sound if frightened/hurt and they can also growl-sort of like 'uurrggh'-if annoyed. i have had several rabbits over the years, a large chinchilla x belgian hare-who was a growler! a sweet mongrel bunny, a lionhead x dwarf lop, and a butterfly dwarf lop, plus i have three bunnies at the moment-two dwarf lops and a pedigree lionhead-who is a real sweetie but cant help growling!

Generally, they are quiet. If they sense an intruder, they have an instinct to pound the ground with their back feet to warn the rest of the rabbits that danger is approaching. It is a thumping sound. Hence the bunny in Bambi was named "Thumper."
When a rabbit believes he is in peril, he will let out a high shrill of a scream. What a rabbit perceives as peril may not be what anything else considers to be dangerous. Rabbits generally do not like water and may scream if they are placed in a tub of water or have a hose turned on them. Never try to give a pet rabbit a bath the way you would with your dog.
I have heard people say their rabbit has a rumbling sound like a low growl, but that one eludes me. Never heard it in 30 years of keeping rabbits.

Then can make a couple sounds.
A high pitched squealing noise when they are hurt or in pain. Sometimes it is a solid continuous scream and sometimes they will open and close their mouth giving an undulation to the scream.
A grunt when they are mad. This is when they normally come at you with their front paws and their mouth kind of open.
And a loud stomp when they are scared or frightened.
A grunt when the male finishes breeding the female and kind of curls up into a ball on top of her.
I've been raising and showing rabbits for going on 25 years. I've seen them make all of these sounds many times.

When rabbits are mad or annoyed, they growl like a dog! When they are badly injured or think they are about to die, they will scream like a baby! Believe me, it is the truth! They grunt sometimes when they hump each other, too. They also make a "erp" noise, too.

Rabbits can scream if they are in pain or being attacked. It is a quieter scream but you can hear it.
