If someone had have asked me this question 3 years ago I would have answered LimeWire with no hesitation. However, I recently installed and used LimeWire (for the first time in the 3 years) and was shocked by the amount of search results that were spam and/or junk. And no matter what you typed as a search the results are always the same, ie: "college girls sucking c*ck" or "you have to see this" etc, etc...
Therefore, my answer to your question is NEITHER. You would be much better off using a program like BitTorrent to download music files. Not only does it not contain any spyware or malware whatsoever, but you have total control over what you choose to download. The only (possible) downside that it may have for you is that a broadband internet connection is basically a requirement.
For me personally, the downside is (or should I say 'was') that in order to get it running correctly, you need to perform a procedure that "opens the ports" on your broadband modem (or router, as I've since learned that it's called). The only reason that I found this to be a hassle is because I had no idea what the hell it meant, and ended up spending 2 hours on the phone with a computer tech' while he walked me through the procedure.

All the best mate.

My Dear Friend,
First of all, Limewire is Hard Spyware. It will demolish your entire computer system and throw all your personal information on share...I request you NOT TO USE LIMEWIRE AT ALL.
Better to use Bit-torrent software or more better buy a affordable CD/DVD.
Take care of your computer more...It will take care of you in coming days.
Expecting Success...Always.
