If someone were to put together a pitching staff comprised of the top five high school pitchers in the country, would Albert get a hit against them everytime? Personally, I don't think so.

Oh, and that would be with a major league defense behind them.

1.000? Definitely not.

.500? Probably not.

.400? Maybe.

.330? Definitely.

Now listen up! The best pitchers in high school aren't slackers. They can throw the ball in the 90s and have good off-speed stuff. The best ones can be in the majors within 3 years give or take. The point I'm trying to make is that high school studs aren't too different from the real deal. Albert hits about .340 now, and would probably end up hitting .400 off of them... maybe even a bit lower.

No way. I'd say the top 5 high school pitchers in the country could very easily be on a major league roster right now. I do think, strictly from an experience standpoint, Pujols could probably bat .500 against these pitchers.

Not a chance. If he managed to get outs in the Home Run Derby where he gets to hit batting practice and never have to worry about called strikes, there's no way he would be able to bat 1.000 even if it was against high school pitchers.

Absolutely not, because the top 5 high school pitchers in the nation amount to A, AA or possibly even AAA pitching. Pujos is good, but one of those pitchers could force him into a ground out or fly out.

depends on the number of atbats and at what interval -- if it were 10 atbats at about 4 a night then yes -- pujols is so good at spoiling pitches eventually a rookie pitcher will make a mistake

btw -- whoever repplied saying that "he couldn't, just look at the home ru derby" -- anything not a home run are outs in the home run derby -- how many times have you seen a gound or lazy pop fly

No...no no...repeat NO! When batting .300 at the ML level is considered good, and the fact hitting a baseball is considered the most difficult feat in any sport. He would hv plent of success agains HS level pitching, however he will not be perfect, he may "just miss" on a pitch and pop up, etc...

Not if he hadn't seen them before.

It takes time for every hitter to get a read on every pitcher, on the type of arm motion that the pitcher uses, on the movement of hi pitches, of his personal quirks, etc. But pitchers are busy doing the same.
