most of the fords f150 an f250, came out with a 8 cil motor,i would take a wild guess an say a 302,are a 351,it to depend on the mouth it was also made.so came out with a 5.o,whitch still come back to being a 302

if a 6cyl, only a 4.9L- 299ci was used in 1988 on F250.
If gas V8, the 302 was not offered on a F250, it would be a 351 or a 460 cubic inch.
Or it could be a non turbo diesel.

From what I saw of the F series we've owned from that decade most of them had V 6 style engines. Sorry I'm not too mechanically inclined as to the name brand and such. Most were Ford built I guess.

verify the spark. Take off distributor cap and function somebody to crank it over and notice interior the rotor is popping. Used WD 40 somewhat of commencing fluid. commencing fluid can punch a hollow interior the piston. That stuff is designed for diesels. If it starts off then you definately've a gasoline pump concern stable success

Depending if full size or midisze 2.3 liter 4cyl, 3.0 liter 6cyl or 302 or 351 v8 are most common.
