YES, YES, YES!!!!!!! I hate to say to it cause your a guy, but I agree! Yep, I live in central California where there is no snow for miles and I see tons of girls wearing them. What's up with the glasses?!?!? they're so lame, I will never understand fashion...its sickening to see so many girls "trying" to be trending...the shoes and glasses are fads they will be gone by next spring. Also I've seen girls wearing flip flops in the rain and they're trying to skip over rain puddles its hilarious

The answer is simple-- celebrities started doing it, and so regular gals follow. The problem is, those hot celebrities still look good when they dress like a bum (Ugg boots are quite comfortable after all), but the average woman just looks even uglier and fatter than normal.
As for the sunglasses, I suppose it makes women feel glamorous-- like a celebrity who is trying to hide their identity. Again, it takes a certain type of beauty--and a beauty that the average American just doesn't have--to pull off looking good in those too.
There is a small segment of the female population who wears the big glasses for the humor and irony (Think Johnny Depp in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'), but most do it because they are daft cows who will follow any old trend.

Hahaha... I'm a girl and I HATE both those styles. Admittedly, those Uggs look nice and warm and comfy, but I'd never be caught DEAD in them outside my own house... lol. But those sunglasses? Hideous.
I'm almost embarassed for the girls in my school sometimes, lol.
(But I have to say, I like it when other girls wear silly things like these, because it makes me laugh and brightens my day, though I doubt they'd be happy to hear that.) :D

Hey! I need those glasses to cover up flaws on my face lol! But I also like them because it's much cooler for my eyes (cool as in not-hot) when the sun is too bright.
I really don't like the boots though, that'll make the legs and feet look like they belong to a Yeti. I had to wear them when I go on ski trip, they're warm but I don't like the look, seriously.

Rawrrbiit has it right-- everybody's doing it. That is why some crazy fashions become-- well-- fashionable. Personally, I am right there with you. The Ugg boots should be called "Ugghhh!" boots. Why would you want heavy boots on in 100 degree weather? I guess we are just in the "lemming" generation. If everyone is doing it, then it seems to justify it for everyone else. Silly! (Not that there's anything wrong with it)

Yes, I think they do know how ridiculous they look. I guess they just don't care, a little ignorant. "If everyone else does, why does it matter if I do? They think it looks good so it must!" Might be what they're thinking. Just today my friend was wearing huge, furry boots that look like black bear's feet. I don't know what she was thinking.Same with another friend wearing the huge sunglasses.

the boots are a fad that has somehow lasted for a few years. that will be gone soon. the glasses however are more than a fad. they are a way for ugly girls to look decent. any girl looks good with big glasses on because all you can see is the tip of their noses and a feminine jaw line... take the glasses off and you see all the imperfections. stop fooling yourselves girls, you gotta face reality

Fun Wear for girls who get bored with the same shoes everyday, not like most boys who have no problem only owning 3 pair and usually wearing only one pair 99% of the time. Live and let live, It takes all kinds!

lol yeah I just moved back to Cleveland from Phoenix, we have almost a foot of snow and i hardly see people wear those here. I know what your talking about. Those were in style briefly in the northeast/great lakes about 4 or 5 years ago. (and why are they always PINK?)

Fashions come and go ... There are many other fashions that need to leave and never come back but you know, the ones that are the worst as far as how addicting and horrible they look are, those are the ones that keep coming back. I wouldn't worry about it, they'll come up with something more drastic if you harp on that string too much. Sadly ...
