I saw an advertisement on their site which offered 1 full year of magazines, ABSOLUTELY free, but it charged me $16 or so afterwards, and I don't know how to cancel or unsubscribe.

The simple way: when the bill arrives don't open it and write CANCEL on it in red and drop it in the mail. If you were already charged the $16 you'll have to call or email them to cancel.

Call the magazine's customer service number. It should be in the fine print in the front of the book. Tell them you don't want it any more. They might ask you why. Tell them what you told us on Answers. You should have written cancel on the bill and sent it back.

there usually is a number on the bill that you can call and tell them that you want to cancel and you could even tell them whats going on and they probably won't make you pay the $16.

Just don't pay it I mean they only have a name and address they can't call the credit burial for 16 bucks. Write a letter to them explaining your situation and that's it.
