I have new leaves and the leaves aren't dying, The tips about a fourth of the way down are turning dark brown on healthy leaves. Also my new buds are not just not blooming.

This is normal and with longer daylight days approaching, your plant should start growing new leaves again and will eventually shed its old ones. You could trim off the brown with household shears.

I doubt that you could expect a gardenia to bloom in the house...wouldn't even be fertilizing it for several months...also needs higher humidity and more indirect light or gro lights...good luck
