would you rather be a shooter who can hit 3's and j's all day, and have a smooth jumper have like a 60% fieldgoal, but not as athletic
or
would you want to be a scorer who is athletic, with like a 40 inch vertical, and can get to the rim, not a good shooter, like a 40% fieldgoal

well if it held consistent i would be a shooter. i mean a FG is worth 2 pts whether it was a jumpshot or a amazing dunk. but being a shooter lets you hit 3s and gives momentum to your team.

I play and I'm a scorer, but I can also step back and hit the 3, but I can get to the rim with athletic moves and quickness, so in my opinion I'd rather be a scorer and improve my jump shot, rather than be a shooter and try and improve my speed and athletic moves to the rim.

No one can shoot 60% from the outside, unless you are'nt playing that competetively. I'd rather be the the athlete, because he would be able to shut the shooter down unless the shooter had an all around game. Steve Kerr was probably one of the greatest shooters to ever touch a basketball, but was he a great player? no, he was a great shooter.

I guess from a personal perspective I'd rather be a scorer. If the question was would I rather be in the NBA as a shooter, or the bush leagues as a scorer, well I'd rather be in the NBA. I'd rather be Brent Barry on the Spurs than Vince Carter on the Raptors or even the Nets.

Depends on what kind of team you're on. But, I'd rather be a shooter, anyone that shoots threes and contains a 60% field goal is almost impossible, but, draining threes makes you a scorer.

rather have the 60% fg shooting even though from what you've described the shooter should have the 40% fg and the guy who gets to the rim is taking higher percentage shots and should therefore shoot better

i think that shooting can be taught. i don't think that someone can be taught to be more athletic or much faster than they are. so personally i would rather be athletic like stoudemire.
