It's great at times yes for meeting friends, chatting, message boards, im's and bullitens and such, as well as personal pages and blogs. But well some times local friends and yes I mean ones that actually see eachother in person besides online can get into major fights on the myspace or internet because they feel "safe" behind the computer and not having to deal with their fights and issues on the phone or in person. thus a current delima I'm in and not all my fault either. What do you all think about myspace and such? I think you should think before you speak and post stuff online that once posted you can't take back. Any who I'm bout an inch from either quiting myspace or just giving it a big break for a while. The real deal is friends who need to stop fighting here. I'll be interested to see what results this question gets. All answers are welcome. Speak your minds people thanks.

I think myspace is a bad thing, the people who get decieved and go out to other countries to meet their new 'friend' is horrible, it just ends up being a terrifying experience for them.

although this isn't your situation...

i used to do myspace... but i got bored after a week of it... why talk to your friends on the computer (the ones you actually see) instead of going out to the movies with them or to the park or house or whatever. it's more fun like that.

I believe MySpace is pretty good in a few things like just being able to talk to friends and it being free. And it does cause alot of arguments it seems, but so does instant messenger programs and other sites that you can talk to friends online.
But in other categories such as page design, instant messaging, message boards, and sometimes mailing are rather terrible. The site goes through it's maitenance process way too much. Besides, there are many other sites that allow almost the same thing MySpace does and works twice as good. Tagworld being one of them in my opinion. Well that is enough of my opinion. See ya.

You can't really take back what you say to a person's face either. You said it so there was obviously some truth to it, same as sending a message, or an email. Or even posting a nasty comment, but they can delete those. I'm assuming your younger, because most people don't really sit on a website and fight with people. Well most mature people I should say.

They feel "safe" behind the computer, but maybe it is good in a way because then they are showing their true colors and you aren't being deceived thinking they really like you.

I believe you can delete them as friends and set your profile to private so that they cannot contact you.
The fun of it is setting it up, doing a blog here and there and then checking on it every now and then.

Think about the lack of social skills a person has who can only interact on myspace. You meet, and get to know, people in person, not on a computer.

It's ok but it gets boring after a while. People need to grow a pair and deal with all the drama face to face instead of being cowards and fighting on the computer! I think people just like drama and like to start and they will think of anything to fight about just to keep themselves occupied. For real find a different hobby!

I'm on Myspace, but I find it boring. I think people like it because its essentially a way to obsess over yourself. You set up your page to reflect "you", you collect friends, you display comments. Its insanely egomanical.
