What would you say would be appropriate times to be intimidating?

well the absolute best time would be when people are trying to intimidate YOU. other times would be when you're trotting down dark streets at 2am. if you look like a punk, you get treated like a punk. if you look like a murderer......get the picture?

A prime example I can think of is in Sport Competition. If you manage to intimidate your partner, this can lead to a significant psychological lead on your game. Boxing, Wrestling, any contact sport really.

You might also want to be slightly intimidating if you are vying for a work position that requires a bit of agression, like sales.

But then you almost have to ask yourself exactly what is intimidating - or what is being assertive. I think it is a fine line that depends on too many variables.
