You see, i have this SERIOUS fear of points. I cant have anything pointing at me at anytime or i just plain old freak out. If i notice, say the corner of a piece of paper pointing at me, my eyes get weak, and i either squint, or my eyes water, or i throw up.

My other problem is that i have a fear of tubes or cylinders i guess you could say. If i see a cylinder, exspecially if there are 2 that are different sizes, i freak out and throw up. but the problem with this is that i cant get it off my mind. This started when i was young and my brother ran over my hand with the vacuum cleaner and i threw up. I now have a fear of pastel colored M&ms because of that, although i know they have almost nothing in common. But ever since he did that, i had a reoccuring dream about tubes, and i just want to barf everytime i see one .

Can you help me ?

I don't mean to sound offensive, but I felt really disgusted when I read some of the answers given. It shows how little they understand someone with genuine anxiety or a genuine phobia.

I believe you do have an anxiety disorder or phobia, but it is entirely based on what I read about your problems. The specific details of your problem help me too, in reaching that speculation.

No, you are not crazy (ignore those who say you are). But it would be good if you can consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist. If you choose not to take medication, just simply let the psychiatrist know (a psychologist cannot prescribe medication).

Other than medication, there are also other ways of overcoming this. One treatment approach would be the Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, so you can go to a psychologist/psychiatrist who can help you with this.

You are having an anxiety issue which hampers your daily living - so that's why I am suggesting that you seek help. It is not because you are crazy - that's a common social stigma that people have. They would never understand unless they suffer from anxiety attacks like you did.

Hi Shianexco!!!

You should go to see a doctor!!! This fears and phobias, often are NOT well understood, but there is help for it!!! Only professionals, are the ones that should be dealing with trying to help as most of us don't know how to or have the capacity or the knowledge to.

You are NOT crazy!!! You are just re-living a painful experience and you are relating that pain with things that surround you!!! If you go and talk to an expert on this things, I'm sure you will feel much better in no time!!!

Most of the times there is an underlying source an unrelated explanation, that you will be able to finally deal with it with the proper professional help!!!

GOD BLESS YOU, GOOD LUCK & HAPPY LIFE

A.Z.

That sounds strange, I've never heard anything like that before but then I'm not a doctor. Have you ever been in a situation where you've gone through some trauma? Maybe it has something to do with that? The only thing I can think to help you is to expose yourself to movies etc. like that and hopefully you will get used to it.

The points could be because a previous life experience. I suggest reading Bhagavad Gita as its is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada which tells about karma, reincarnation and the purpose of human life.

Sounds like you have anxiety and it's attaching itself to random items to which you develop phobias. You could see a good psychologist. Or you could try alternative medicine. I'm a psychologist who prefers alternative medicine, so you see, there's no one good way.

Good luck. Keep at it, if you want to heal you will figure it out.

If you're serious, then yes, it sounds like an anxiety disorder or phobias. I can't help you, but someone in the psych field can.
