..... where would you be now?

Hmm...interesting question. I could be anywhere now.
If I'd perservered when my book was first turned down, I could have had a decade of published work by now. Would never have had either of my two relationships, and a pal of mine would probably still be alive. If I'd had the courage of my convictions when I was a journalism student, I might now be freezing my bits off in Dundee, Scotland.

If I'd had the courage of my radicalism, there's every chance I'd be in jail now...

You never can tell where things might have gone, but if you can be happy with where they HAVE gone, you're doing alright.

The one big mistake I made five years and a bit ago was not due to a lack of courage. It was due to ignorance and instant gratification. Therefore, there was no will... just compliance.

However, when I really think about it, I must admit I would be in the same position that I'm in right now. A huge thing in my life just went away. It would have went away regardless of anything I may have done. Plus, I'm ending my marriage so everything is happening the way it (most likely) would have.

Weird how that works out.

Hard to say. It's never been about will power or courage but rather weighing the pro's and con's and the risk vs. the outcome. But I do wonder sometimes how different things may have been had I chose different paths. JUST wonder, not regret.

Courage is about overcoming the fear that envelopes you as you lunge at your goal or desired outcome. And will power is about having the mental strength to just do it. Once you wisely and solidly determine what it is you need to do, you'll find the will and courage. And although the outcome may or may not be within your control, you'll be right where you need to be... with no regrets. :)

Without courage, how can you have a life? I lived with depression for 4 years after 2 of my friends commited suicide. They were not living even when they were alive. I realized, I was not either. I am now, attending college and thriving. If, I didn't have the will myself, I would still be laying at home looking at my bed and the four white walls that surrounded me.

In all reality, I don't have any problems challenging myself. It happens every day....
I honestly would be exactly where I am now.
It isn't perfect, life never is, but I'm content and I'm happy.
Peace.
