you probably have the parking brake on...or it is stuck...if it will go backwards it is the p - brake..
Hopefully your transmission is not "gone" ...that could cost some coin

Did you turn it on? Maybe you did, now you have to pull that stick down. Depending on what kind of car you have...(1) Its on the right side of the steering wheel. No, not the wipers. (2) Its on the middle console under the cd player. (3) Its in the same place as # 2 with a slightly different look. In # 1 & 2 You want to put the stick down to the one marked "D". In # 3 you want to put in where it is says "1" and push the pedal on the left all the way in. Not the brakes. The "clutch". : ) I hope this helps. *MUAHS*

Check the transmission fluid. If your lucky that's all it is. P.S. Do this with the engine running and the tranny in park.

If it starts and you put it in gear, but it won't move..........it's probably the transmission.
