What were some good decisions you made, where once they were accomplished, you wondered why it took you so long to just do it?
Also, why *did* it take you so long to do it?

These are all good answers, but some people aren't really getting the sense of the question. =) What I really meant was, was there anything you agonized over for a long time, and couldn't bring yourself just to get it done -- but when you finally did, you wondered by you didn't just do it earlier?

Arrgh, sorry about the typo -- you wondered *why* you didn't just get it done earlier...

the very best decision I made was breaking up with my abusive boyfriend of 3 years. He was not only cheating up on me but he was also beating me up. After 3 years in hell, I've finally got the strength to completely forget about him and moved on with my life. It took me so long to do it probably because I couldn't accept the fact that such an incredible thing could happen to me (complete disaster, indeed!), that someone whom I believed I loved ruined my life so bad. How could someone (a friend and a lover) turned up to be so evil. What would my friends tell me that all these facades I've been making up, telling friends that the relationship was okay....all that stuff made me feel a loser all throughout.

It was really hard to put an end to a rotten relationship...but when I finally got the courage, picked up all the broken pieces I started all over again....I am now happily married to a perfect gentleman whom I met several months after I ended my disastrous relationship.

A good decision I made was to buy a home. It took me so long to do it because I really didn't want to own one. My hubby did so we bought one. Now I look at it and think it was a good idea, we sure are saving money by buying and not renting. Don't care for the house, but hey its a house right.

FINALLY, I decided to give my 3 1/2yo son orders "eye to eye". I wasted so much time and energy yelling and giving times outs, when all that was needed was eye contact. I guess it took a long time bc
#1 It seems too easy and #2 I wa so frustrated and angry,I couldnt help but yell. But this works better.

becoming an atheist - or in other words, the decision to start questioning my beliefs. i guess it took me a long time to make that decision because i didn't want to feel like i was different. i didn't want to feel even more like an outcast in my church than i already did. i was also thinking about religion most of my pre-teen life and how I wanted it to fit in my life. I think it was a good decision because in return it gave me a wider view of my world, and a life long interest in learning about different religions.

The best decisions were to never stick a needle in my arm, sell my body, disrespect my mom, deliberately hurt another human being, lie to myself, follow the masses blindly and so many more.

in high school i basically gave up social life for my academics...i worked hard and got all A's. now that im in college, my work ethic has helped me become a great student, and now i know how to manage both my social and academic life so that i have time for both.

also, another good thing is that i saved money like crazy when iwas little...i never bought the "in things" and the" abercrombie" clothes....i worked my butt off during the summer when most kids my age were haning out with friends....now, i am glad i did because i have money coming out of my ***!!
