The common enemy theory has been around for a long time. I think it because grandparents provide a soft place for their grandchildren to land. They tend to be more tolerant of their grandchildren and not as judgemental. Also, Grandparents don't have the stress of raising the kids, so they can be more relaxed around them.

The children of the grandparents are the same as the parents to the grand children........common 'enemy'.....
Which brings me to a story once told to me.......what walks on four legs...then two legs and finally three legs....?
Its man himself...soon after birth he learns to crawl thus walking on fours......his middle age he walks on his two legs....
and in his old age resorts to a cane thus walking with three legs.....getting closer to the resemblance of that fetal position of the unborn child...

Yes, and at this very moment my mother-in-law is plotting how to get my son away from me for future trips to Disney/Six Flags every year of his life - it's just not fair!!! She doesn't have to work for her money, but I do!

The Parents........... Grandparents are cool spoil them give them what they want & send them home happy...let the parents stress..we did our 'time"I... think its called payback remember your mother's words wait till you have kids ?
