My friend and I wanted to start making tutus for fun...and because we like them. Anyone know how to make them?

i just asked this question yesterday, and im getting ready to make one right now. you cut strips of tule to the length you want, grab three strips on top of each other, fold them in half and put it under the elastic and put the seperated end thgough the fold and pull, kinda like a knot. just keep going around the entire thing.

You just take a long rectangular piece of fabric[ length=how long you want it(waist to knee); width=hip measurement x 3 or 4 or 5, depending on the fullness] ,gather the top of the longest part (the width) attach a wide elastic ( length= waist + 2" for overlap ) Sew the side seams, along with the elastic, together.And there you have it! Experiment till you get it the way you want it.

Tulle and wide ribbon. You can even hand sew it! Just measure enough ribbon to cover your waist and make a bow, and then sew the tulle to come off of it, and tie. Voila!

you can kind of tell by looking at the pictures. it seems to me that all they did was buy lots of tulle and cut it into long strips. and get a piece of elastic that fits around your waist and tie the strips to it tightly. you could also sew it if you want.
