In a modern car that is operating properly, mostly carbon dioxide (CO2, one atom of carbon and two of oxygen. '1' after the C is not written). In a car running poorly, or without enough air (e.g. stuck in snow up to the air intake), there is more carbon monoxide (CO). CO is quite poisonous; CO2 is much less so (it's in soda).

Both - carbon dioxide is a product of complete combustion. Carbon monoxide is a product of incomplete combustion in which the octane (gasoline) does not react with a sufficient amount of oxygen.
