Anarchy is the complete lack of order, structure, and law - chaos.

An anarchist is someone who purposefully creates that type of situation or situations, for strategic or other purposes. They are NOT just someone disillusioned with government. That is simply disenfranchisement.

Anarchists actually want to create confusion and chaos. Their purposes thrive on it.

An anarchist believes that people do not need to be governed. Instead, they believe that society will grow and improve with education and mutual best interests. If you examine the world's history carefully you will see that the world has always been anarchy and has done well. It is when you try to enforce structure and dictate morals that things begin to fall apart.

For the record, if there were no governments to support with their huge armies and rules there would be approximately 50-70% more resources available to everybody.

To respond to a comment made by another poster, anarchists are no more violent than any other human. They are misrepresented as wishing to overthrow governments by force, they want nothing of the sort. They only wish to be allowed to live their lives without the coercion inherent to all forms of government. The so-called anarchists that preach violence are as badly misnamed as the Soviet Union and Chinese communists. None of those labels are accurate.

In short an Anarchist is a person given to a principle or theory of life and conduct under which society is conceived without government - harmony in such a society being obtained, not by submission to law, or by obedience to any authority, but by free agreements concluded between the various groups, territorial and professional, freely constituted for the sake of production and consumption, as also for the satisfaction of the infinite variety of needs and aspirations of a civilized being.

The thoughts of an archist run along these lines:
When people are reasonable enough to follow their natural instincts, they will unite across the frontiers and constitute the cosmos. They will have no need of law-courts or police, will have no temples and no public worship, and use no money - services will be rendered as free gifts.

A correct sentence would be: An Anarchist longs to live a life that many consider to be a fantasy.

Anarchism is a political philosophy or group of doctrines and attitudes centered on rejection of any form of compulsory government (cf. "state"[1]) and supporting its elimination.[2][3] The term "anarchism" is derived from the Greek αναρχία ("without archons" or "without rulers"). Thus "anarchism," in its most general meaning, is the belief that all forms of rulership (and thus also involuntary servitude) are undesirable and should be abolished.

There is a variety of types and traditions of anarchism with various points of difference.[4][5] However, the varieties are not particularly well characterized and not all them are mutually exclusive.[6] Other than being opposed to the state, "there is no single defining position that all anarchists hold, and those considered anarchists at best share a certain family resemblance."[7] Preferred economic arrangements are one of the many areas of disagreement for anarchists.[8]

An anarchist is a person who has no idea what anarchy really is. Anarchists are usually folks who are disenfranchised with their current form of government, and rather than try to figure out how to fix it for the better, they opt for having NO government at all. If no government existed, everyone in the country would be forced to camping out on their rooftops with shotguns in hand trying to protect their food from starved invading neighbors.

The moral; if you don't like the government, either leave or try to fix it. Don't vote for NO government. It's just stupid.

an example would be - Anarchists generally believe that human beings are capable of managing their own affairs on the basis of creativity, cooperation, and mutual respect. It is believed that power is inherently corrupting, and that authorities are inevitably more concerned with self-perpetuation and increasing their own power than they are with doing what is best for their constituents.
