because of all the award shows in the last couple of weeks and the Super Bowl next weekend....

well i heard that as far as ratings go, even though they may get less viewers during the actual time slot, because viewers don't have to watch at that time, there are ratings that combine the two airings.

i heard that this is the rating that matters more. because it shows more popularity in a show. because, think about it, if you like a show a lot and you watch the same episode twice, then you are making their ratings higher. also if you can not watch a show at it's all new airing time, then it doesn't mean that the show is doing poorly because no one likes it, it's simply because of the time slot.

so that's why they're showing repeats.

There are rating periods for TV: Feb, May, July, and Nov. May is the biggest one (called "Sweeps"). They do re-runs so they'll have the season finale in this period. Otherwise, they'll run out of shows, and lose out.

some people may not get to watch the show at a particular timeslot. besides, buying tv shows or filming them takes time and money

probably because there are more weeks in a TV season than there are shows

i know of- friends, everybody loves raymond, king of queens, thats 70s show, seinfeld, those r the ones off the top of my head
