Well that's a tough question. I have numerous guns, and while there is some cross over, each was purchased with a specific roll in mind. Hunting big game, pheasant hunting, action pistol shooting, varmint hunting, sporting clays and long rang rifle. Oh and yes I do have a couple that were purchased with self defense in mind.
In a handgun for defensive purposes I've finally gotten to the point where an Officer sized 1911 is the best option for me. Small enough, powerful enough and completely dependable.
For action shooting my Para-Ordnance P-16's fill the ticket nicely for local matches.
For handgun hunting my S&W 629 Classic Hunter works just fine and I really like it.
My trusty Remington 870 Wing Master is my favorite hunting shotgun and for sporting clays I'm shooting a Turkish made O/U (Over and Under).
My long time deer rifle is a Browning A-Bolt in 7MM Remington Magnum and my varmint rifle is a Winchester Stealth heavy barrlled .22-250.
I have a few others, some .22s in both rifles and pistols, a P-13, a EAA Witness Silver Team in 9MMX21MM my daughter shoots in compitition. I have an AR15 I bougth when I was in the service and have shoot numerous matches with it. And I have a couple of special old guns that I inherited from my father when he passed away.
Which is my favorite? The one I happen to be shooting at any given time.

I have a P94 which I like very much, but my favorite gun is my Baby Eagle, it's a 9mm made by Magnum Research Inc. That's the same company who makes the Desert Eagle.

Right now I want a Ruger M77 Mark II rifle in that nice grey-wood stock.
But I've always loved my Colt .38 mustang.

i mostly like to carry my 9mm S&W 6906, second favorite is my S&W .45 ACP Model 625 revolver,( three-inch barrel).

Until I can afford my own minigun ($60,000), I'll stick with my tried and true AR-15.
