Sure do he is Uri Gagarin the first man from space and a hero for Soviet Union. Not just because he flew into space what made him a hero was his activities during WWII and the way he died. He died when his plane experienced a malefaction. Instead of parachuting out he chose to fly the plane out of the city limits, which did not give him enough time to parachute out.
He was truly a good man.
