I'd rather be great at one thing than mediocre at everything.

13 ppg, 4 apg, 5rpg, 1 spg, 1 bpg is horrible, by the way. If you want "All Around" Marcus Camby, Steve Nash are your best picks. Nobody gets 30ppg and 1apg...Its more like 30ppg, 4rpg, 6apg, .5 blk, 2 steals (Pretty much Iverson), and points are always better if you want to be a star...

I don't consider the bottom stats that much of an all around player.

Basically that's like a luke Walton

the top position could be like a center or something who isn't going to get a lot of assists

I think you need better numbers for a comparison as the 30 ppg is clearly better in this case

but you'd rather have the all around game than 1 dimensional if that someone was productive in all areas. The bottom stats just aren't enough

I'd like to be a scorer, but nothing like you put it (30 ppg, 1 apg), more like Steve Nash 24 ppg 10 apg, thats more like it, points is always the key stat, but then the assits are the passes you make for other people to score, so both of those stats are extrememly important...first a passer then a scorer...

It depends on what type of team you are on. Example: Take Kobe in LA all around he'd be no good for that team if he only avg. 13 pts., 5 rp., 5 assist. Not enough good shooters on that team. Take Steve Nash/Jason Kidd/ Magic Johnson, You had better players around these guys there is no need to shoot alot.

being an all rounder like making assists defending well and being a good passer are important but nothing beats scoring lots of points yourself.what's a game if you don't do what a player is suppose to do.

Well if you drop thirty a game at least you will probably be on sportcenter every night and make the all-star game.Give me Kobe before Nash any game.
