Well.... When I controlled Red XIII, Aeris, and Barrett to the elevator to get Aeris out of the Shinra building, it was time for Cloud to have a BIG fight with Rufus ( Palmer's son ). But I couldn't get through him!!!!! I want to know what happens after that ends. Please tell more information and tell me how to get through Rufus and what he is afraid of. ( you don't have to to tell me what Rufus is afraid of, but if you know, tell me! ) You can also tell me some tips is you know any. You can tell me the whole story of Final Fantasy VII if you want. If you do that, then I am going to star you 5 points!!!! And comment you alot! Thanks to the people who answered this question! I really apreciate it!!!! : )
P.S. I would love it if you typed the whole Final FantasyVII story down for me!!!!! : )

Whoa, thats only about 5 hours into a 40 hour game. Here's a very brief summary of what happens. WARNING:*Massive Spoilers* Basically, you leave Midgar to try and stop Sephiroth. You meet other party members along the way, and eventually you find out that Sephiroth wants to summon a meteor to destroy the planet. Aeris runs off to try and stop it, but is killed by Sephiroth. The party continues to track Sephiroth, but as they near him Cloud loses it and the planet spits out some huge monsters to protect itself from meteor and any other threats. Cloud is sucked into the lifestream and your party is captured by Shinra. After you escape, you find Cloud again and it turns out he was never in SOLDIER and that he made it all up. Anyway, Cloud regains his normal memories, you kill all the giant monsters, and then you kill Sephiroth. In the ending, the huge meteor comes down but is stopped by Holy, which was summoned by Aeris before she died. The end.

Make sure you reequip materia to Cloud (if you decided to unequip it all when the party split). I'd recommend at least Cure. I sometimes forger to do that and I make the fight 200 times harder.
FYI, Rufus is President Shinra's son. The guy with the sword in his back. I don't think Palmer is competent enough to breed.

The fight with Rufus would be much easier if you can equip the elemental-poison materia combination on your armlet. Rufus uses a lot of poison attacks, and that combo makes you pretty much invincible. Also, he's weak against fire and gravity.
After the fight, You can figure that out on your own. I'm not one to spoil game endings for people.
