For starters I want to say I think you are so awesome for donating blood. if it wasn't for wonderful people like you I would be dead right now. I had to have 5 blood transfusions a few years ago. so Thank you
I think it is good you asked for permission first. To get your parents opinion, I would discuss this with your parents, I would want to know why I would not be "allowed" if they say because of what happend last time, so you had a mild reaction, it's not uncommon to be dizzy, But I would reassure them, (parents worry way too much) I would build a really good case to where they feel at ease. plus, it wouldn't become a trust issue. Let them know how important it is to you to donate, they should be so proud of you. It sounds they are just being protective parents. I would let them know your stand and tell if need be remind them you are an adult and it is your body and a risk your wanting to take. Good luck

Even if you are living at home they really don't have a choice if you donate blood or not. If you think that you want to try again go ahead. Just make sure you drink plenty of water and eat the juice and cookies right after you give. Some people just get dizzy. It's pretty normal cause you just gave blood. Anyways I used to donate blood and plasma too but I have to wait until September because I had a tattoo done last September...I am also a bone marrow Donor in honor of my Best Friend Jeromy who died when we were still in Highschool, I was 17 he was 18. You can save someone's life. ^_^

Maybe your parents want you to wait a full year. Did you ever get checked by a doctor? Did you ever find out what was wrong? Your parents are just worried about you. I would not go behind their backs and donate blood. What if you get sick again? Also you should eat before you donate, if you dont it makes you sick.

Im glad to hear that you so desperately want to help, but if there was something in your blood that they detected that wasn't right, isn't it a good idea to maybe go to the clinic and have them test it again to make sure everything is okay, and then after those results ask your doc. if its okay to donate, that way you'll have a doctors permission, not your moms, and you'll be better off. I hope this helps!

If you are 18 why are you calling to ask your mom if you can donate blood? You are legally an adult, you don't need permission from your parents for anything. Do what you think is best.

The JW's are turning out to be greater lenient while it includes blood. together as there stand element remains no total blood this grew to become into in the Watchtower: "...while it includes fractions of any of the popular factors, each and each Christian, after careful and prayerful meditation, ought to rigorously make certain for himself." The Watchtower 2000; June 15:29-31 i might flat out tell your mom, "i'm no longer a JW and whether i grew to become into it does no longer provide up me from giving blood, only taking blood. My total classification is going there to try this, shouldn't you help me doing issues in college and for the community? Why ought to your ideals intrude with my classification artwork?" by the way, are you saved out of holiday events, and valentine enjoying cards and different issues like that? Or is she finding out in this one subject so which you would be able to be a JW approximately? If she does not make you sit down out each and all the holiday stuff she shouldn't make you sit down this college activity out the two.

You should have a CBC done just to make sure that there is nothing medically wrong with you. If there was something wrong the first time, it is always a good idea to check it out before it becomes untreatable. Take care and Good Luck

if you're 18, you don't need permission from your parents. but, they warned you. your parents are just worried about you. bring a snack to eat after you donate the blood. so that you don't faint or get dizzy.
