Okay heres the thing. We were watching tonights American Idol recorded and we rewound it. Well when we hit play it froze up and then turned black. We have sound now but we dont have a picture. And it's just this box b/c we have a picture on the other TVs in the house.
The picture has gone away once before on one of our other TVs too and it came back after a while but we cant get this one to come back. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any idea as to what the problem is?

I assume you recorded this on a DIrecTV DVR. Can you play back anything else? Or is it just this one recording that is black? If nothing else plays, your recorder is bad and needs to be fixed. If it is that show only, call DirecTV to make sure they did not have a transmission problem during that show. If it was sent ok, then your recorder is bad. I'm afraid there is no way to retrieve the show.

contact Direct tv and ask them about it. Your dvd may be going out?
