I have been in and out of the hospital B/C of my tonsils and adnoids for the past 2 months, and got them all taken a few days ago. Well, we have been TTC for 2 years (except this month before the surgery) and will ovulate in the next couple days. My husband thinks that the painkillers will hurt the baby if we do conceive. For the first throat surgeryI was on morphine, and dilauded. For surgery #2I was under general anestisia, percocet and oxycontin. However I take only tylenol now. (cuz every thing else made me YAK, painful!!!)
So even tho I am on nothing now, can the risidual in my system hurt my maybe-baby?

Those drugs aren't generally too bad for the baby. In fact, I was prescribed percocet by my doctor while I was pregnant, and of course received loads of morphine when I had to get a c section. You should wait for a completely different reason. If you're just recovering from surgery, your immune system is weak, and if you got pregnant then came down with something, a high fever could cause brain damage to the baby. Wait until your healthy.

They would be out of system by the time you had implantation bleeding. Ask your docotr for sure though. I was given morphine right after I had my 1st son and I was breastfeeding so I really would ask a doctor.

Nope...wait. Better to be safe then sorry, and you'll ovulate again next month. It's been two years...what's another couple of months?

Please wait.

You would be sooo hurt, if you got pregnant, and something was wrong.

Wait until you are all better.
