Limewire says that your router has a Firewall. I agree. But does it say to Disable the Firewall???. I have used Limewire behind a Firewall before and everything worked fine.
There is no reason why you should disable your firewall unless you are unable to connect and download files. Limewire uses some ports to communicate. If your limewire is not connecting check which ports its trying to access and open only those ports on the firewall.

ok well to turn off the firewall to allow you to use stuf on limewire go to your start menu then to to control pannel on the right then when your in there go to security center in there then go to a thing at the bottom that sais windows firewall then when that opens go to the top where it sais exeptions then findlimewire on there and make it so there is a check that should work thats all i would say

dont turn off the firewall configure the firewall to allow access to limewire, but be careful, you can get viruses and spyware from limewire. so run your virus program after every download. take care heather

dont use limewire it is illegal the firewall protects your computer from bad viruses so that means limewire:not a good thing

Right click on the icon for your firewall in your system tray. They click disable

Limewire sucks. if i were you i would junk it. i like to use bearshare and bittorent.
