I had kids because I wanted them. Had nothing to do with a tax refund. Most times, we have to pay.

Yeah...because we all know that really is a HUGE chunk of money, and taking care of kids is really easy and cheap, I make out WAY better by popping out kids than getting taxed the extra, what, $500 a year? Yeah...all kids really cost is like a crust a bread a day and a cup of milk.

The average American will spend more than $150,000 per child from birth to 18. If parents are having kids as a form of investing, Im not sure they could make a worse choice.

Ive got children and its got nothing to do with money if that was the case id of had loads.its all to do with love having a baby makes a couple become a loving family!

It just seems like such a good idea at the time. I think our brains are programmed so that we can't see the far-reaching consequences of our actions, even when we've already had a kid! I know that's my problem - I want another one, even though it's so hard. Maybe I'm addicted to the love - you just don't know what it's like until you've had one!

I hate to say it, but I'm sure there are people out there who are actually that shallow, callous and cynical that they'd have a kid just for the tax break. Also, I'm sure there are some rich people who only have kids because they need somebody to leave the family business to when they die.

lol....did you see the show on The Learning Channel about that couple in Arkansas who have 16 kids? Maybe we should ask them!

Yeah that's why I had one.
Only someone childless or immature would make that comment.
My child has enriched mine and my husbands life in so many ways you would never understand. Here in Australia we get (this year) AUD$5000-00. And that had nothing to do with having him. And even though it is a lovely chunk of money we spent that on him before he even came out, decking out the nursery and medical bills.
