I am in a wedding in October (8 months away), right now I weigh 237. I have lost 11 pounds in 5 weeks. My question is this. I have to order a dress in April which gives me 2 months to lose a little more weight. What size of dress should I order for an October wedding if I plan on losing 87 more pounds? I'm 5'6". Please Help!

I'm not even sure what size I am now...I'd say 22-20 somewhere in there.

I was in a similar boat--I winded up losing weight, but not as much as I had planned to (things got hectic toward the wedding). What I did was purchase the size that fit me at the time and had the dress taken in a couple of weeks prior to the wedding.

Concentrate on losing weight by your April fitting, take the size that they give you, and find a cheap seamstress that can take in your dress closer to the wedding date. Good luck and have fun!!

Remember, it's easier to have a dress taken in than taken out. :)

first, get yourself measured at the store where you are buying the dress. You need to buy for the size you currently are. You can always have dresses altered and taken in. It is great that you are losing weight, but you cannot plan for an unkown thing like if you will lose 87 pounds by October. What happens if you only lose 20? Better safe than sorry. You can't always subtract fabric, you cannot add it back if you buy dress that ends up being too small to start with.

I have been in a few weddings and before every one i said i was going to lose weight. Imight have lost some weight but never very much. So just order the dress size you are at the time of the fitting. It's easier to take it in (incase you do lose more weight) then it is to take it out. Good luck!

Don't worry about your wieght. Choose the dress that's your current size. It's VERY unhealthy to loose 87 pounds in 2 months. I know you probably want to look good for this wedding, but you'll enjoy it so much more if you forgot about your figure or how you look. Just go have some fun.

I'd order a size or two down that you are right now. You can always have the dress taken in.

I would not go down more than 2 sizes. It is more resonable to have it bigger than not big enough.

Always go bigger!!
I don't know what size you are now. But...they can usually take it in, they can't always let it out!
I learned this the hard way!!!
