There are truckloads of dead animals that shelters pack up like garbage. This happens and people know it. But God forbid...wait, no...people forbid that when it's ok to kill family pets, it's not ok to euthanize a child rapist. So why is it ok that we can kill other living creatures so much easier than human beings who may deserve it? Is it immoral to murder a murderer but it's ok to murder another innocent being just because they can't speak or be as smart as us? I wonder if there is anyone that finds it unfair how we treat our mother nature, when we have been endowed with so much evolutionary advantages at the top of the food chain. Are we really that un-responsible?

'Irresponsible'

I agree with you, except we have and will kill people who are not guilty or who is of the wrong race.

For that reason alone, I am against capital punishment by any name.

I understand your zeal but lets step back for a minute. Why
do you suppose there ARE so many unwanted animals???
You guessed it--because humans are not responsible for
neutering and spaying the pets they have. As soon as
anyone gets a pet-there should be a law that they cannot
keep said pet until it is certified to be sterile. Thus, only the
animals that are loved and well cared for will live and die
in a good home.
Since you have the zeal and the love for these animals--
It should be YOU who gets some laws passed. I think
PETA is a great organization and your local animal shelter
is a good place to start. Getting mad about any bad
situation is only the first step to changing it. Good luck!
Here's a small story along this line. There is a man in this
town who has always wanted to save the homeless animals.
So his family bought some land and he went out and
rounded up all the homeless and abused animals. He now
has many animals, but noone gets to adopt one unless
they are neutered/vaccinated/and assured of a good home.
He rented a large building and opened a thrift store.
His business is overwhelming because so many people
wanted to help--and now they have a way. The profits
from the thrift shop go for care and feeding and adoptions
of the animals who would otherwise have been euthanized.

it is unfair, I used to live on a gravel road right out of town and we would have animals dropped of on us all the time most of the time I found homes for them but once I decided to take some to a local pet adoption place it was a mom dog that smelt of death, and her 9 puppies someone had dropped them off in the moving box they had used to move with the puppies were all healthy and happy and the mom was very under weight and near death so I took them to a place I thought would help them,, I was wrong right off after I signed the papers that said that the dogs weren't mine the woman said.. these puppies have ring worm so they are all going to be put down... I was so sick and saddened by this, its just so wrong that animals that were treated so badly gets to be put down just b/c they were treated badly that would be the same as killing a child that was raped b/c it might make that child a little mentally unstable in the future ....

Wow. What a comparison, I have to give you credit for this thought. However, my response is probably not what you were looking for, but if they euthanized prisoners, then the prison industry which makes millions of dollars for many fortune 500's would not be able to rationalize the need to build more prisons. Think of the amount of jobs that would be lost if we didn't pack the prisons tightly.

By the way, for all the people that said we already do this, we don't charge the death penalty because prisons are crowded. We charge the death penalty...very difficultly I might add...because someone pushed the issue enought to get it done.

A very clever rant. But seriously, we already have the death penalty in many states for those convicted of high enough offenses. Do you want to kill everyone who's incarcerated?

Unwanted domestic animals face a cruel and painful life if left to fend for themselves in residential areas, and they breed more unwanted animals who will face the same agony. That's why more people should neuter and spay their pets.

We don't take the same liberties regarding humans because humans have souls, and we should have more compassion for our own kind. Jesus died for the sake of the very people who killed him. And God chose the life of animals over people when Adam and Eve sinned: He provided them with animal furs to cover their nakedness.

But, we are humans, and it IS hard to love some people. Fortunately, we aren't expected to LIKE them all. Just take a deep breath and find something to smile about. Animals are pretty good for that, and they are certainly easier to love and to like.

In your lame attempt to be witty, you fail to recognize the fact that many states execute (euthanize) prisoners.

Perhaps you are so new to the political scene that you overlooked this simple fact before you attempted to provide the poor animals with an intelligent defense.

I assume that was you aim, to save all the poor creatures of the world, right?

I bet most of the people who are agreeing are born again christians. So then with your arguement here, we would also have to put the people who euthanize to death also? To kill is to murder no? Like someone else said the nazis are not in power, or are they?

Let's euthanize the convicts and open the prisons to the animals. The latter are probably more intelligent and will contribute better to society anyway.

It's an unfair world. And I'm glad you're not running it. How can anyone be so passionate about animals and so callous about human life?

You 've got it all wrong. It's ok to kill both without remorse.
