I have short, thin, straight eyelashes...The ONLY way I can get them to curl is to get curling, thickening and lenghtening mascara in one and then use a curler after i put the mascara on...Because before the mascara is on, the curler will pinch my eyelid...
Idk how to do the smokey eye thing though sorry.

For the smokey look start with a silver/grey colour and apply it right up to the arch in your eye brows. Then use a dark grey or light black- don't apply all the way to the brow arch, only over 1/2 to 3/4 of eyelid, soften the colour down with a grey or silver shimmer, this will also help to blend the colours to make the smokey look. Use a white pencil or shadow on your inner eyes- at the top of the nose and fill in any gaps in your lashes with a black liner. If you have small eyes then don't put liner along the inside of your bottom lashes- this will make your eyes appear smaller.
For the lashes apply one coat of mascara. When it dries curl your lashes in 3 sections, at the roots, the middle and the ends. Hold the curler for about 20 seconds on the roots for a really good curl. Then gently brush more mascara over your lashes and closing your eyes gently push the mascara wand directly against the very ends of your lashes- pushing them towards your eyelid. This should give them more hold, you can even try putting a bit of hairspray on your finger and hold it against the underneath of your lashes, pushing them up for a few seconds. Make sure you keep your eyes closed during this and for a few seconds afterwards or the smell of the hairspray can sting.
I hope this makes sense

There are mascaras which curl lashes. L'oreal Panoramic is good. I used to be a department store makeup artist, and this is what I'd do for most everybody....
You need to make sure your foundation is flattering, good, but not obvious. Smokey eyes can bring out skin problems, so the skin has to be perfect for the look to work. The same goes for concealer, dark circles will make you look unpleasant with dark makeup too.
Black can be tricky, so get a nice, smudgeable dark chocolate brown eyeliner. Midnight blue is another flattering choice, as long as you don't have dark circles. MAC has nice eyeliners. Most of the drugstore ones seem similar to me, but Revlon is pretty good. Line the upper lashes, and a thin line along the lower lashes. Not too much. Take a q-tip, an smudge lightly. About half of it will come off, and that's good. You can always add more.
Use a slightly shimmery nude or pearl colored highlighter from the brows to the crease. You just want your skin to look like its glowing. Use a dark taupe shadow on the entire lid from crease to lash. Smudge with finger to blend into lighter shadow at crease, but not above. Take an angle brush, and line upper lid again with a dark shadow that is close to the liner color. Take the highlighter shade used on brown, but a subtle dot on center of lid, and highlight inner corner of eyes. Add mascara, and make sure your brows are groomed. Keep cheeks and lips subtle.

To get tha smokey look u use a dark shade closet 2 tha eyes, then a little lighter, then right under the eyebrows u use a really light shade, the colors are up 2 u, but u will need 3 different colors dark, lighter, lightest, 4 example i use a dark brown or black near my lashes, but save a lil room 2 highlight by the lashes then move up with like a dark burgandy or pink even a gold, then i put a really light pink or gold or even cream color right under my brows. Depends on the color of ya skin what looks best on u but at least 3 diff. colors. Dark, lighter, lightest

to curl your eyelashes get a heated eyelash curler and than try the XXL mascara (maybelline i think) but dont use the white side..the other side works SO much better alone
for smokey eyes use a colored or neutral base and add darker corners and make sure it blends in. than line your top lid with eyeliner (i like prestige) and line the bottom with it also. make the top come out so it gives a catlike approach. than try to smudge it a little bit. if you want to you can also take the darker eyeshadow you used to put on your edges and line the bottom of your eyelid with it also, over the eyeliner (it only looks good on certain ppl)

I am a makeup artist and this is how you do it:
To Use a Eyelash Curler:
How to use an eyelash curler. Curling eyelashes make your eyes look wider & brighter. Metal eyelash curlers are better than plastic. You'll want to replace the pads on the curler every 2 months. For best results, you'll want to gentrly heat the curler with a blowdryer for no more than 5 seconds.
1. Eyelash curlers work best on clean eyelashes. Make sure eyelashes are free of mascara. If necessary, use eye makeup remover to remove old mascara.
2. With your blowdryer on low heat, blow air on the curler for no more than 5 seconds. Touch the metal. If it's hot, let it cool for a few seconds. You don't want to burn your eyelid.
3. Open the curler, clamp lashes near the roots. Hold for 10-30 seconds. Never curl lashes after you apply mascara -- as the mascara dries, lashes can stick to the curler & be torn from the roots. Don't bother curling bottom lashes.
4. Repeat on the other eye.
SMOKEY EYES:
Smokey eye makeup tip: Use powdery eye shadows.
There is no eye makeup look sexier than smoldering smokey eyes. The good news is smokey eyes is an easy makeup look to perfect. Our step by step guide shows you how you too can have sexy, smoldering smokey eye makeup in just a few minutes.
1. Choose your eye shadow colours.
The traditional smokey eye makeup colours are, of course, black or grey. You are however not limited to these colour choices, you can also use less intense colours such as: violet, chocolate, coffee, dark pink, copper, dark green, dark blue or purple.
Remember when choosing eye shadow shades that colours should be chosen keeping in mind your eye colour, hair colour and skin tone and not the colour of the clothes you wear.
For smokey eye makeup you will need to choose 2 colour coordinated eye shadows. A darker feature colour and a lighter supporting colour.
2. Choose your eyeliner pencil.
Choose a soft eyeliner pencil of the same colour or a complementary shade to your feature eye shadow.
Smokey eye makeup tip: If possible choose a Powderliner eyeliner pencil. They are easier to blend and are sometimes available with a sponge tip for easy blending.
Smokey eye makeup tip: Never use liquid eyeliner. Liquid eyeliners are better for sharper lines, not a soft and sultry finish.
3. Apply your foundation base.
Normally you would apply your full foundation before applying your eye makeup. This is not the case when doing smokey eye makeup. You should apply your eye makeup first, that way if you get some of your eye shadow on the rest of your face you won’t ruin your foundation. This also helps avoid a raccoon eye look under your eye. For smoother eye shadow application, that lasts longer, you do however want to first apply a thin layer of foundation to your eyelids followed by a thin layer of face powder to set the foundation. This will give you a clean canvas for your eye shadow and will also help to prevent the eye shadow from creasing. This will also give you more even, accurate, eye shadow application.
4. Apply your eyeliner.
Line both the top and bottom rims of your eyes with your eyeliner pencil. Typically you would use a black or charcoal eyeliner pencil but you can also use a dark eyeliner pencil that matches your feature eye shadow colour. Make sure to go into the eyelash line itself (near the root of your eyelashes). Be sure to fill in any bare spaces between the eyelashes. Start from the inner corner of your eyes with a fine line. As you go outwards towards the corner of your eye make the line heavier. If you have any hard lines from using a heavy eyeliner pencil you will want to lightly smudge the line so it is softer and less harsh looking. This step is made a lot easier by using a Powderliner eyeliner pencil with a built in sponge tip for smudging.
Smokey eye makeup tip: Dark colors trend to make small eyes look even smaller. You can open your eyes up by applying eyeliner starting from the middle of the bottom eye eyelash line, rather than the inside corner, and going to the outer corner of the eye. If your eyes are not smallish feel free to apply the eyeliner from corner to corner.
5. Apply your eye shadows.
Using your larger eye shadow brush apply your supporting eye shadow colour to your eyelids, up to the base of your eyebrows.
Now, using your feature eye shadow colour, and your small eye shadow brush, apply your dark feature eye shadow onto the eyeliner and then blend it upward to the crease of your eyelid. When blending your feature eye shadow keep as much of the colour intensity as possible along the eyelash line and particularly in the outer corners of your eyes.
Smokey eye makeup tip: Remember smudge and blend so the eyeliner and eye shadows go together seamlessly.
6. Apply your mascara.
Curl your eyelashes before applying mascara, this opens your eyes up. Apply 2 or 3 coats of black mascara applying the mascara in thin coats to avoid clumping.
7. Complete your smokey eye makeup look.
Complete your foundation being careful not to mess up your beautiful smokey eyes. Keeping your lips neutral gives smokey eyes their real impact. Use a flesh toned lip pencil and a pink or caramel shade of lipstick or lip gloss to give your lips a subtle finish.
For your eyebrows you can use your normal eyebrow pencil. You could also use a shade darker than normal to complement your smokey eyes.
Apply a subtle finish of rose or tawny blusher just to the apples of your cheeks blending away to the edges into your hairline. This finishes the face without competing with your smoldering smokey eyes.
Enjoy your sexy, smoldering smokey eye makeup look !
